The Finishing Index.
Inaugural Edition · 2026Publishing soon
The African Executive Finishing Index aggregates anonymised readings of The Finisher Profile taken by executives across the continent. It reports the share of commitments left unfinished, the covenant patterns most often fractured at the senior level, and what those patterns predict for the strategic plans those same executives are responsible for.
The headline finding
of African executives report missing more than half of the personal-formation commitments they made in the past twelve months. The pattern is not strategic. It is formative. and it is the same pattern that quietly costs their organisations their strategic plans.
Numbers shown as XX are placeholders pending the published edition. The full report. with sample size, confidence intervals, country and sector breakdowns. lands with the Inaugural Edition.
Methodology
The Index is built on the same physician-designed instrument used by adults across the continent at finisher.mogire.com. Each respondent answers sixty items across six covenants. the body, the craft, the people, the future, the world, and the self. Executive responses are isolated, anonymised, aggregated by covenant and by region, and read by Dr. Mogire personally.
What the Inaugural Edition will report
Five findings will land with the published edition. Each is drawn directly from the aggregate, not interpolated. Previews below.
Across the executive sample, one covenant is named loudest. the one where senior leaders most consistently lose the line between what they said they would do and what they did. Named in the full report.
The quietest covenant. the one executives consistently under-report. predicts a separate pattern of unfinishing that is invisible until it becomes terminal. Named in the full report.
The same covenant is not loudest everywhere. East African executives, West African executives, and Southern African executives report different finishing topographies. Mapped in the full report.
Executives describe the lives they intend to live; the Profile reads the lives they are living. The Index reports the gap, in months, between the two. Quantified in the full report.
The individual covenant pattern of senior leaders is the most underweighted variable in African strategic planning. The Index demonstrates the link, executive by covenant, to specific strategic-execution outcomes. Named in the full report, and operationalised through The Finisher Boardroom.
The Index does not advise. It diagnoses. The room around it. boards, executives, journalists, faculties. supplies the implications.
